Troy Buchanan High School

Mr. Barchesky is in his 11th year as Associate Director of Bands at Troy Buchanan High School and 16^th year of teaching. He directs the concert band and ninth grade concert band, co-directs the marching band, and teaches guitar classes. Additionally, he assists at Troy South Middle School, where he works with the 6th, 7th and 8th grade bands.

Mr. Barchesky earned his Bachelor of Science in Music Education (summa cum laude), Master’s of Education in Music Education with a focus in wind conducting, and Educational Specialist in Mental Health Practices in Schools from the University of Missouri. Before joining the band staff at Troy, Mr. Barchesky taught for five years as the Assistant Director of Bands in the Sullivan School District in Sullivan, Missouri. He also served as a part-time band director in the Columbia Public Schools while he pursued his master's degree.
