Flexible Schedule Opportunities

EARLY GRADUATION

Students have the opportunity to graduate in December of their senior year if they have met all of the requirements for graduation. Per Troy R-III Board of Education Policy, students must be enrolled in high school for at least 7 semesters before they can graduate.

Students who graduate early:

  • Will be allowed to participate in the regular graduation ceremony at the conclusion of the year.
  • May not be eligible for local/regional/national end of year awards/scholarships.
  • Will be treated as graduated students for all other events after early-graduation.
  • Will no longer be allowed to participate in athletics or any extracurricular activities as a TBHS student.

Early graduation applications must be submitted no later than October 15th of the student's senior year.

PART-TIME STATUS

Senior year students have the option to attend school part time.

  • Hours of student attendance must be consecutive.
  • Students must be on track to graduate through six semesters without part-time status interfering with their progress toward graduation.
  • Students are strongly encouraged to enroll in daily coursework above the minimum graduation requirements.
  • Students in MSHSAA activities must be enrolled in a minimum of 7 classes and must pass 7 to be eligible to participate.  Part-time status would end their eligibility.  Students holding officer positions in Career Education organizations may fall under the same parameters.
  • A+ eligibility would not be affected by part-time status, but attendance percentage may be impacted.
  • Part-time students may participate in regular graduation ceremonies providing all requirements are met.
  • Part-time students will be restricted from loitering on campus except for a reasonable time before and after the blocks he or she is enrolled.  The student may be required to report to a specific area of the campus at a specific time as determined by building administrators.  Students must provide their own transportation to and from school.

THINGS TO CONSIDER

  • Most insurance agencies require full-time attendance to be eligible for the “Good Student” discount.
  • Cum Laude requires full-time status.
  • Students must complete 3.5 credits per semester to be eligible for competition in MSHSAA activities.
