Adult Community Education Support (ACES) Program
The ACES program in the Lincoln County R-III School District started with a simple but powerful question: "What happens when the bus stops coming?" For our students aged 18+ who have spent their school years in a life skills curriculum, ACES is the bridge to what comes next. It’s designed to help them take everything they learned in K-12 and use it in the real world. ACES is here to support them as they transition into adulthood, giving them the confidence and practice they need to navigate their community and future environments.
The ACES program will be a simulated “living lab” house where students focus on implementing the adult schedule, including necessary supports, while the student and their family continue to receive support through school.

The ACES learning facility is located on Buchanan Street in Troy. The learning lab simulates a home environment and allows students to practice daily life skills as they transition away from the traditional classroom experience.
What makes this facility even more unique is that it will be built by students for students. The Troy Buchanan High School Construction Trades program will take the lead on this building project, with assistance from interior design classes.

Students in the ACES program partner with local businesses and organizations to volunteer, explore potential employment opportunities, and practice life skills. If you’re interested in partnering with our students, you can reach out to Richele Falloon at falloonr@troy.k12.mo.us.
